  • After the set temperature has been met the jets will run in 15-20 minute cycles and they will shut off after this time period. To turn them back on simply press the jet button again to begin another 15-20 min cycle.
  • Bubbles off and top on heats up the tub fastest.
  • The tub heats up about 1-2 degrees per hour.
  1. Display Codes
  1. P- Will be displayed when the pump is not on, to indicate that the water near the temperature sensors must be purged to get an accurate reading of the water temperature. The actual temperature cannot be calculated without the pump running. To display the water temperature when “P” is showing on the display, press the “JETS” button. After 2 minutes, the water temperature will be displayed.
  1. P01- Means insufficient heating. Close Air control completely by turning the knob clockwise, close and secure the lid, reset GFCI. This code is designed to stop the unit if a temperature sensor does not see a change in temperature while the pump is running of 1 degree over a period of 4 hours. If the error code reappears after 4 hours contact your Local Servicing Dealer or Softub Technical Support
  1. IPS- Means “Insufficient Power Supply” the supplies power is insufficient and the unit has turned off to protect the internal electronic components.

What’s in your Kit

  • Test Strips - These help you determine which chemicals are needed to maintain the proper sanitizer level. Test strips for a Softub need to measure Chlorine, PH, and Alkalinity. Some strips measure other parameters such as Bromine, Cyanuric Acid, Hardness, etc. These measurements are not necessary in most Softub applications and can be disregarded.
  • Granulated Chlorine - This is a chlorine based granular concentrate used as a sanitizer for vinyl-lined spas. The ideal level for chlorine is in the range of 3-5 ppm (parts per million). Please refer to the instructions on the bottle.
  • pH Up and pH Down - These two products are used to adjust the pH and total alkalinity as determined on your test strips. The total alkalinity should be between 100-120 ppm. Both pH Up and pH Down adjust pH faster than the alkalinity. The ideal pH level is 7.4 - 7.6. Please refer to the instructions on the bottle.
  •  Measuring Spoons.

Water Management

  • Upon delivery your water chemistry will be adjusted for you. Water management is only the responsibility of the renter during a rental interval of over 2.3 days.
  • ALWAYS LEAVE THE TUB CAP ON WHEN NOT IN USE. This helps keep water chemistry in check by limiting evaporation.
  • Add chemicals one at a time.
  • Always have jets on and air off when adding chemicals.
  • Allow water to mix for 7 minutes before re-checking chemistry after adding chemicals.
  • After about 2.3 days it is required to check the water chemistry.
  • Use the test strips to test the water. Take one out of the bottle and dip it in the spa water with the square pads down and swirl it around 3 times.  Remove the strip from the water and compare the squares on the strip to those on the side of the bottle.
  • You are mainly focusing on PH and chlorine levels. After assessing the levels on your test strip, adjust the water chemistry by adding one tablespoon at a time and then recheck the with a strip after 10 minutes.
  • If the PH is low, add PH Up and if it is high add PH Down. Make sure the jest are on when adding chemicals. Start by adding a tablespoon at a time until the proper PH level is reached. Typically, as time goes on your PH will go up, so PH down should be added.
  • Typically, a tablespoon 3 times a week is recommended. Make sure the jest are on when adding chemicals. The ideal level for chlorine is in the range of 3-5 ppm (parts per million). So aim for adding 1 table spoon every 2.3 days BUT CHECK WATER CHEMISTRY BEFORE ADDING. This should keep it in check but pay attention to the values on your test strips. You may need more than one tablespoon.
